Night Skiing

We have night skiing at Whaleback Mon. - Fri. until 9:00 p.m. The chalet is open until 9:00 and rentals are also available. A night ski pass is $5.00.The lit trail is groomed at 4:00pm in preparation for the night skiers and the trail has both classic and skating tracks.

It's interesting to go out to the chalet to  meet the people who are skiing in the evenings as most of us ski  during the day. What an enthusiastic bunch you'll meet !   There is lots of action at the chalet right up until dusk.  The first thing that you'll notice upon  arriving is  that the evening gang does  a wonderful job of throwing another log on the fire as the chalet is always nice and toasty .  Skiing with a buddy is a good practice and if you are skiing alone, you should avoid the outback trails that have hills.  It's a long lonely crawl from the base of Yellow Birch Hill  should you fall and break a leg, so please be careful.  It is also good to carry a cell phone with you in case you experience an injury yourself, or come upon an accident on the trail.   What should you do in case of an accident on the trail.  Here's the drill ...call the chalet at 643-9902 or  call Doug Fowlow 649-0008, Graham Oliver 643-5426 or Gerry Clark 643-5990 ... and we will respond with snowmobile and rescue toboggan as quickly as possible. Here's some photos taken by Ray Colombe of St. Georges and Diane Hanratty  just to give you an idea of the fun that goes on after the lights go out.
