Help Whaleback raise funds for a worthy cause! We need YOUR
support!
To encourage friendly rivalry ... the Kippens and West
Crusaders ask all the residents of Kippens to help them win the Snowy Owl
Cup! Of Course Stephenville and East Sculpins want to do the same thing
..... so come out and help us have fun at Whaleback where the Happy Gang is
always at play.
Hi Whalebackers and friends who wish to support Heart and Stroke Foundation.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! The Heart and Stroke is indeed a wonderful organization that
works diligently to save lives and to help people live healthier lives. On
Sat. Jan 28 th at 1:00 p.m..
Whaleback will be hosting the Snow Owl Classic and a good portion
of the registration fees for this event will be donated to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation.
So start preparing for the Snowy Owl! And take your friends along
... no day pass fee that day for non-members ...
"rentals at $3.00 a set until the rental closet is empty"... we want the general public to come
out and get their hearts pumping. We want you to help promote this
event and at the same time get people on skis by bringing your
friends along. You can ski any distance you wish in the Snowy Owl
from .5 km to 8.5 km and take as long as you want to get back to the
chalet. It is a mass participation event, rather than a race. Now
there will be a gaggle of fast skiers lined up near the front, but
don’t worry about them as you’ll never lay eyes on them again after
I shout "Allez"!! This is also a good old fashioned classic event,
meaning you should stay in the set track, rather than skate your
course of choice.
Almost forgot ... the Blow Me Down Club from Corner Brook always
mount a sneak attack on Whaleback at the Snowy Owl and they come out
in droves and try to whisk the Snowy Owl Cup back to Corner Brook.
Several years ago they were successful in their attempt... we DO NOT
WANT THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN! There are three teams challenging for the
cup this year, the Kippens and West team, the Stephenville and East
crowd and our nemesis to the North Blow-Me-Down Blow-outs.
Help crush the invaders from the North and raise funds for Heart
and Stroke! We look forward to seeing you there!
